The Indian Embassy celebrated the International Day of Yoga in Denmark in 3 cities. Apart from Copenhagen, the third edition of #IDY was marked at Arhus, the second largest city of Denmark and in Vejle.

#IDY2017 in Copenhagen was held at the iconic King’s Garden, on a lovely sunny day in the back drop of the beautiful, majestic Rosenborg Palace. Attended by more than 500 yoga enthusiasts, Ambassador Jesper Sorenson, Chief Guest at the occasion, commended India’s efforts in propagating yoga in the world.

Deputy Mayor Anne Nygaard, Chief Guest in Arhus, was deeply appreciative of the Indian Embassy and for choosing Arhus for marking the IDY2017. The event, attended by more than 300, was held at the prestigious and historic Town Hall. ‘Indians in Arhus’ played an important role in organising the event in close collaboration with the Arhus Municipality.

In the verdant town of Vejle, the #InternationalYogaDay 2017 was held in a football stadium, with the participation of a strong international community. The Mayor of Vejle, Jens Ejner Christensen, Chief Guest, was pleased by the initiative and promised to upscale the event next year. The role of ’Indian Association of Denmark’ in Vejle was indeed commendable.

Overall, this year the footprint of #IDY, in its third edition, was hugely expanded in Denmark.
