Fraud calls: An Alert!

It has come to the notice of the Embassy that some criminal and anti-social elements are attempting to spoof the Embassy telephone numbers to call persons of Indian origin to demand personal details such as Passport No., PAN No. etc. for so-called purposes of verification etc., understandably in order to use them for defrauding the individuals.

Please note that the Embassy never calls public over telephone to ask personal details for verification, etc. Recipients of such calls in the name of the Embassy are advised to be careful and not share personal details over phone. It is also advised to report any such calls that you receive to local police after noting the number and any details that the callers leave with you.
